We have received many requests for updates on the condition of Country legend T. G. Sheppard. We are very sad to report that he has been hospitalized again (as of Tuesday Nov.6,2012).
He’s back in the hospital just weeks after being released from a Nashville-area facility. According to a Facebook post from his wife, singer-songwriter Kelly Lang, the veteran entertainer is suffering from a “severe” blood infection.
Sheppard, who scored multiple hits in the 70′s and 80′s, still tours actively at age 68. But in October, just days after a performance at the Reunion of Professional Entertainers banquet, he was admitted to the hospital with a bladder infection that progressed into his blood stream, as well as causing an elevated heart rate.
The hitmaker was discharged earlier last month but sadly it appears that his condition has not improved. “Without going in to too much detail, TG has been admitted into the hospital again with severe blood infection,” his concerned wife posted to Facebook Tuesday morning (Nov. 6). She added, “It is very serious. We need prayers.”
As of this morning, his wife has not updated us on Sheppard’s condition. However they did spend Election night watching returns in the hospital. Sheppard had been extremely active this year campaigning for the failed Presidential bid for Republican Governor Mitt Romney.
